PLACEMENT INFORMATION:
Physiotherapy deals with human movement and function. It aims to maximise patient potential and return to normal function following ill health, trauma or disability for other reasons.
The Physiotherapy Team within ULHT cover both inpatient and outpatient activities in all specialities. Physiotherapy provides support for the multi-disciplinary team in the rehabilitation of patients with acute medical conditions, following trauma and elective procedures alongside providing intensive care support for patients in acute phases of serious illness.

PLACEMENT DETAILS:
Whilst on placement, individuals will shadow a member of the department, observing their day to day duties in the hospital. This will include observation within both inpatients and outpatient services. This may include some or all of the following inpatient areas such as orthopaedic wards, surgical wards, medical wards, care of the elderly wards, oncology wards or intensive care. Outpatient treatment areas at Pilgrim or Grantham may also include Aquatic Therapy.
