PLACEMENT INFORMATION:
This placement is designed to give students the opportunity to see hospital pharmacy in practice. During the placement, students will be able to observe the responsibilities of the hospital pharmacy team in priding patient care.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust’s pharmacies provide pharmacy services to inpatients within the hospitals and also provide services to St Barnabas Hospice. Clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who provide a clinical pharmacy service to individual patients on the wards.

PLACEMENT DETAILS:
During the placement individuals will assist and observe various Pharmacy staff. Students will observe dispensing activities including controlled drug dispensing and dispensing for discharge . There may be the opportunity to shadow both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the ward environment, observing medicines reconciliation on admission and discharge, patient counselling and the provision of pharmaceutical care advice to other health care professionals.
